Others may see it differently but I would advise against it. I'm not sure what is wrong with your watch, but sometimes when the initial issue on a mechanichal watch is not addressed then other issues or parts can become damaged. This is because the parts that maybe affected work in conjuction with other parts.


I'm also not sure if your warranty might cover an issue which you may have actually caused yourself. For instance if you have been changing the date on your watch during the time when the date should not have been changed. Always best to do so at 06:30 in the morning. If you change it between 9:00 PM and 03:00 AM you can damage some of these parts.

Regardless of it being covered under warranty or not you could be damaging other parts. If this were not to be covered, and I'm not saying it wont be, then any part and specifically any more parts could cost quite a bit more.


So if nothing else as a precaution, I would at least take it to my Patek AD and have them advise me on what to do.
