Lisa, when I hear of turntables I think of old school music stereos where one of the components play record albums, preferably the long playing 33 1/2 vinyl records over the 45's.....there's a Record/CD show next month where you can go and buy used ones from all kinds of vendors who set up for a small fee. This show occurs every other month but I have not gone yet because I'm afraid I might come home with 30 or 40 albums to add to my smaller holdings. I know of one friend and collector who has over 5,000 vinyl albums in his listening room and over 15,000 CD's.....
I would imagine that Dave down in his hobby room must have a stereo laying around somewhere. If he is interested I have two Crown IC150A Preamps, two Crown DC300A Amps, a B & O Beogram 4004 Turntable, a Maranntz 115B Tuner, a Nakamichi Music Bank CD Player 2, a Phillips DCC 900 Digital Compact Casette Recorder and a pair of Klipsch Chorus 2 Speakers!!!
As for music mediums I have approximately 550 vinyl albums split between early Rock and Jazz and about 400 or so CD's of mainly Jazz. I do enjoy listening to the albums because the sound is so much better over CD's but of course each time you play vinyl you are degrading their quality. But I will take listening to Analog sound any day over Digital as it is what your ears hear especially when you listen to live music!!!
Take it easy.....Leo
