I also ask for help to choose between these two in a Hong Kong Panerai forum and so far 590 got zero vote. I love 424 since I tried it on last weekend, it fits me well though I have a small wrist
590 as smaller version of the classic 203 with the "3" & "9" taken out, it totally kill the beauty. Pros of 590 over 424 is its P.5000 8-day pwr resever v.s. the P.3000 3-day, this makes me not totally lean on 424.
