I sent my watch in for service, I've done this four other times over 30 years, always got the bracelet back looking like new. in 2007 I was forced by Rolex to buy a new bracelet or send then 46 dollars for the estimate and return shipping and without being repaired. I gave in because life was much more of a rat race then than it is now. I sent my watch into RSCNY for service in January this year, and 1100 dollars later is came back looking in worse shape than when I sent it. they didn't touch the bracelet other than to give it more scratches then when I sent it in.. I called RSC NY and they said the 6 year old bracelet was beyond repair. I posted pictures here of the before shots, and the after I got it back shots.
When I called RSC NY they didn't want to do anything for me other than sell me a new bracelet, they also told me my watch needed 5700 dollars worth of additional repairs. Ive shown the estimate of necessary work and the estimate of recommended work, they wanted to replace everything but the movement.
