I spent a couple of months trying to find a PAM00177.

Several deals where going to happen then fell through for one reason or another. Then the supply of 177s seemed to dry up. Then 2 weeks ago I came across an auction in Japan. Anyway after some discussions I got my first Panerai.

I'm quite happy about the watch and here are a few photos:

Here is a comparison with a 41mm Seamaster GMT

It seems to be about the limits of size for my wrist.

The watch although 44mm is very comfortable it being made of titanium.
The lack of a hacking movement is a little disappointing and I can't seem to put backward pressure on the crown to hold the second hand to otherwise cause the second hand to stop moving. As a result it is not possible (so it seems) to have the exact to the second time set.

I do think it will be much nicer on a good leather strap.

The black hands look great, the display back is really cool and the manual wind is something that already I'm surprised I find quite enjoyable.

I don't understand having a COSC rating but not being able to set the second hand Please tell me if I'm missing something.

Overall, I do think this is a very interesting watch that will wear well on the weekends. It does have quite a tool like ruggedness that I really appreciate.
