I've handled the white dial and own the grey/blue. Both are very nice and it really depends on personal preference.
The "blue" dial on the 5711 is really grey/blue dial and is the original and considered more often than the white. The colour gradations are more visible than the white dial and changes from slate/metallic grey to navy blue.
The white is a metallic silvery white but with more subtle colour changes compared to the grey/blue. As others have said, the white gives off a more sporty vibe.
