Today I opened a bottle of Abstract '13 (WS92) and as I was expecting a full -yet young- red, I decanted for an hour. First impressions, bottle is quite heavy and, despite the odd label, pushes your mind towards a full bodied red. The label does not give you any information on grapes, tastes or aromas, other than well known Orin Swift Cellars.
Color is intense, and aromas, as you swirl reveal a lot of peppery/dark berry hints. On palate, it is an unusual blend. Aromas and colors suggest a cab-like wine, yet it is very drinkable with mild tannins. I paired with cheese, salumi and bacon-mint pasta, it did ok without being outstanding.
My 2 cents: if you want to give a 'wine connoisseur' option in color and aromas, yet a very easy going red, this is it. If you are looking for flavor so that match the thick, rich aromas and colors....well , this will not do it. I will leave some for tomorrow and see how it changes....
