Thierry (nice gent that he is) doesn't exactly look like he is the sporting type. I can see him grouse hunting, but not much else. If I am wrong, I would gladly accept an invitation from Thierry to be humbled by him in the sport of his choice. Somebody please set this up.

Yes in fact they are sporty dress watches, stronger than dress watches but in no way as robust, IMO, as Rolex, RM, AP ROO, your 5167 was fine for many things but I am not sure that it'is good to wear them for'sports where the movements are violent, squash, tennis, running, etc, but for pool and beach the 5711/5167 with 120meter WR are fine, wouldn't dive from a certan height with it on but other than that it's fine, the 5712 is more controversial with only 60meter, some say you can swim, others no...

Well when I had a bike (motor) accident in Thailand, totally my fault, was riding cross style with a 125m3 scooter when I had too much to drink, I know but I drive bikes more than 25 years and big ones, this was my first and only "accident" in 23 years of biking at the time, and boy was I glad i had a blnr and not my 5712, I wanted to take the PP my wife said no, scratches on the crystal, on the bracelet, sold it to a grey dealer friend for 800$ less plus price for new crystal and polish, i can imagine the price if it had been the patek. So now I try never to take any watch when I am on a bike, also try not to drink
