The part that is unclear to me is how Patek HQ allocates to the regions; as you say in some cases they may have particular individuals in mind, but my guess would be that clients are managed regionally. This wouldn't surprise me given the number of people at the event I was at who had one (or more).

The hypothetical numbers that were thrown around for the 5131 were very low and didn't leave me with a good feeling about getting the email anytime soon especially given the interest level of other people in my group with very impressive Patek collections.

You never know though, the watch is a significant sum of money for many people so it's possible that you might get a chance to jump spots if someone isn't immediately in a position to pick it up or has changed their mind about how much they like the piece during the wait time.

In our case we got to go to the dial factory and watch the process of painting, blotting, then firing a white enamel dial. We also got to meet with someone from the creation department who showed us examples of the different types of enamel (translucent vs. opaque) and the types of colors that can be achieved depending on the background. So I think everyone there left with a real appreciation for the art of enamel.
Yes I was explained the same as you would have seen from one if my earlier threads that as its not a LE Geneva didn't allocate but rather to the region and AD. But the thread by Russel996 disproved what Regional Patek had told me so it's very opaque
