On the other end of the spectrum is a crazy idea of getting a 3d scan of the bezel, and have someone custom fit a bezel protector/actual bezel replacement made of ceramic or other scratch-proof material (this is going franken level, i know).

Duct tape works great for this, and it almost looks like brushed stainless steel from 20 feet.
