Tonight an 'old friend' - Yalumba "The Scribbler" Cabernet-Shiraz from the Barossa.
At 12 years old, now a brick-red with a matured soft palate that still delivers the vivacity of the younger wine but more as a subtle backdrop than a first-impression. Took about 4 hours to open fully.
A lovely aged wine that is drinking at it's best. Fortunately I have a few more of these.
