Non Rolex Recommendation

Has anyone else looked at Baume & Mercier? On a whim, I picked up a Riviera in 39mm. It scratches my itch for something that fits in between my abundance of sport watches and dress watches. It's also a modern interpretation of a design originally launched 50 years ago, if that is important to anyone. An impressive 5 day power reserve, too. I've seen a few things online wondering how much of the movement is shared between the Riviera and the IWC Ingenieur as the specs are similar. It's a nice wear at 39mm and 10.2mm thick. FYI, I did try the 42mm, but with the way the rubber strap flares from the case, it wears much bigger.

I highly recommend the new Tag Heuer Aquaracer line. Ceramic bezel, 80 hr reserve, 300m water resistance, and a great micro-adjusting clasp. Cost for the GMT version was under 4k.

Bought my daughter an Erebus Ascent ($400-500) with a 5-link bracelet and a purple fumé dial. Comes with a micro-adjustment clasp. Very nice finishing for the pricing.

I bought a white dial Santos large a couple months ago, a stunning and versatile watch. I was originally looking to get the Santos Dumont but the larger size was a much better fit for me and classic white dial, blued hands, blue crown spinel, and the way it just hugs the wrist, there was no hope for me, I couldn't say no. The strap adjustment/changing features are awesome too, like nothing else out there.

That said, a JLC is also on my want list one day.

The leaders for my non-Rolex watch to pair with my Sub is the Cartier Santos large as it fit my wrist better than the medium. I like the versatility to be able to easily put a strap on it. The other watch that is in contention is Omega Speedmaster Pro but I feel like it doesn't differentiate itself from the Sub as much as the Santos. Other two watches I'm looking at are the JLC Master Control on the strap and Omega Deville Tresor Ref # 435.13.40.21.02.001.

Not sure how much they are now, but after four years (can’t believe it’s been that long!) I am still deeply in love with my Czapek Antarctique, and it sure fits the bill.

Love my Nomos Neomatic 37! Great German design, all in house movement for around 3K. Hard to beat the value IMHO
