My MAD 1s is stuck in US customs...they want an HTS/Detailed Description. I wrote in that it is a watch made of steel, glass, and leather and linked them to the product page but this was rejected. Anyone else have this problem? What did you tell them?

Have MAD send them the doc HTS requested. Am sure they have it. No worries, typical stuff, but yeah a day or three delay. :(

It is surprisingly wearable considering its dimensions, the single cylinder to tell the time did the trick as well as slimmed lugs. But without a doubt, it is big.

I never knew this watch even existed until I started reading this thread a couple of weeks ago. I was immediately smitten by it. Just loved the look, especially the red. So I started looking for one in various different places. I found one from a private seller on Chrono 24 that was BNIB, never worn and still had all of the stickers attached. I decided to purchase it and two days later it arrived at my door. And as much as I liked it in photos, it's even better in person. I love it! Thanks TRF!

Note: As with others, I found the strap to be on the small side. As such, I ordered a large strap from the MB&F website three days ago but have yet to hear anything from them.

I received my MAD 1S yesterday. In recycling the shipping box, I found the MB&F HTS doc in the clear sleeve along with my shipping label. Apparently DHL and US Customs missed it because they sent a HTS request to me.

I also had to provide a government doc with my SSN.

I sent the top half of a recent 1040 form. The instructions listed about a dozen other federal docs I could use, but the 1040 was the one I knew where to find.

Ugh. So I reached out to MB&F support, and they were able to provide me a watch/clock worksheet which listed the value of the different parts of the watch, and I uploaded on the DHL website. Apparently this wasn't good enough and the package status is now:

Shipment cannot be cleared and permission to return to origin is available. Return entry is being processed by clearance.

So it seems like I'm not going to get the watch.

Mine has been stuck in customs for 3 days now. I've submitted the SS card and Tax form that they requested, but still stuck. Frustrating.

I think you should call DHL and ask for help! I'm sure they'll fix it.

Honestly, it's strange that they didn't start customs clearance during delivery. And how do they send it back anyway? At whose expense? DHL's customs service has always worked smoothly in my case (EU/HU) and only took a few hours after the package arrived in the country.

I’d visit the nearest customs office as soon as possible if there’s one nearby. It’s open to the public. At the very least, try calling them to explain your situation directly.

I am happy to report that I called DHL and it turns out they never resubmitted to customs even after I had sent them the form MB&F sent me. The woman was very gracious and sent it in and then I paid the taxes and I am sitting here today with a new MAD 1s :)

Received my new, large strap for my MAD1 red from MB&F today. Great service, shipped two day express. As I stated in a previous post, the medium that came with the watch was just a tad too small. Added just the buckle end of the large strap (if I were to add both it would be too big) and now it is a perfect fit. Really loving this watch!

After 8 days of sitting in customs, I finally got the link to pay customs this morning. Paid it and it is now showing it's cleared, but no movement in tracking since 9am today. Pretty frustrating.

I was stuck since customer service with MB&F is out from 1/28/2025 through 1/30/2025 and I needed to respond by 1/30/2025 12:00GMT or it will be sent back OR pay for storage.
