Grail hunt this last winter.

Ah, yes well..., I have been mostly grail hunting this winter and had some success!

I have wanted a Montblanc 139 for decades, but I either couldn't find a near-mint example or didn't want to shell out the $4000.00 plus to acquire one.

In February I made the acquaintance of a kind attorney that has been collecting writing instruments for the last 2 decades and has a lovely collection. I was able to pick up not only a 139, but also a 138 both in exquisite condition!

Enjoy the pics.

Sadly we write less and less with modern technology the way it has evolved our lives, I can’t honestly remember the last letter I wrote or sent … 10 emails so far today though .. lovely pictures ..

So true! But I have found that when I take time to handwrite a note or letter, it is much more valued far above any email.

My mother has been in heaven for 13 years and I can't tell you what her letters mean. Treasured puts it mildly!

You would be surprised, methinks.

Purchase a new medium-cost fountain pen with a stub or italic nib, say $200-$300. A bottle of lovely ink. About $20. And a nice journal like a LEUCHTTURM1917. About $30.

And now practice. The web has many sites that offer handwriting improvement help.

In just a couple of weeks, I think you will see a huge improvement to you handwriting and the enrichment that writing Instruments and penmanship will add to your life.

You are lucky! Congratulations on both MB’s. Those are getting harder to find! Very cool pictures.

Beautiful acquisitions. And I agree that a handwritten note means a lot. At least to those that know. My cursive never sucked, but when I heard 20 years ago that grade schools were ceasing to teach handwriting/cursive, I made it a point to get better at it. I have met a few people whose writing could have penned the Declaration of Independence (appropriate for this day). And a nice pen and paper turn a note into something that I enjoy creating, and most recipients do as well.

I may honestly give this a go. The only time i take hand written notes is in customer meetings when i don’t like to have a laptop in front of me. But it’s brutal when you can barely read your own writing
