NWA : Tudor Prince Date Chronograph 79270 Panda
Hi there,
I used to have one 79280 6 years ago,but it was with a steel tachy bezel ,stamped indices on dial, instead of applied metal ones and with no bracelet. This one is gorgeous and I like the bidirectional GMT bezel. Stunning and in mint condition. This 79270 has a proper porcelain - like white dial, which I haven't seen in a non - Tiger model and somehow the bezel balances the height and the overall shape of the case and it looks better IMHO than the steel or aluminium models but with the fixed tachy bezels. Furthermore, the condition is probably the best I have ever seen for a 25+ yrs watch. Happy bunny here. Yes,the Tigers are not the most coveted but I couldn't find any in better condition, nor with this striking white dial, applied metal indices and the panda subdials. Have a good week and a great Christmas! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I believe those are sought out for their scarcity. I rarely see them become available for sale.

Well done, mate! I've owned a 79170 w/ black dial & white subs & 79270P w/ silver dial w/ black subs. And an early 79280 w/ silver dial w/ black subs and Rolex crown & case back.
Collectors really like the Rolex crown & case back, from the 791XX and early 792XX when it comes to highest value. But finding the dial color & bezel option you like best makes these neo classics a joy to own & wear. Congrats & enjoy! dP

Tudor markings and signage only makes it tidier and settled to me as a brand and from pure aesthetics. And yes - it is a pleasure to wear it, despite there is almost no lume left due to the tritium dial. |

I sent the watch to my watchmaker as it was running slow ( -5 sec a day) and according to the time accuracy app on my phone - the amplitude was only 109 degrees, which I thought it was wrong and unusual. When the watchmaker opened it ,he said the movement was clean, but dry. He reckon that was the time it was opened or serviced actually. And the timegrapger after the cleaning and putting it together. ![]() Sent from my SM-S928B using Tapatalk |
