What are your thoughts on Blue dial IWC Ingenieur?

Would you buy it for $11700? It looks wicked awesome

I like it, but if I were in the market for this style, I’d probably lean towards a Laureato 38mm Midnight Blue. Either way, I’d pick one up on the secondary market.

I think it looks great. If I had the money to spend on it I’d definitely consider it.

Wicked awesome you say? :-)

With that kind of praise, you have to go for it!

Personally, I think this new dial looks great on the Ingenieur. I can’t wait to check it out IRL.

As for price, in a world where Explorer IIs and Subs are +10k watches, I don’t think the Ingenieur is badly priced.

I have handled this watch at my AD and it is very nice. Too expensive for what it is, to me. So many other watches in this price range that this IWC does not even register for a possible purchase.

There are numerous watches in this integrated steel bracelet category that are all quite similar. Pick the one you love the most and go for it. Buy new if you’re willing to take the financial hit or used if you want a good market price. If you keep watches for a long time or forever then price does not really matter all that much.

I like this watch A LOT. I’m trying to convince myself I need turq and this new blue. My turq is so comfy on wrist

It's amazing. Straw that broke my will to pick one up when they released this color.

Pricing was in my head for awhile really because of the movement. But when you compare to Genta's other works in terms of cost and how nicely the watch is executed visually. I think the cost is justified.

How did you accept the $11,700 price tab? I am trying to get over it

Probably the best dial in the lineup (in my opinion)......but at $7000.

Great looking watch. I prefer the aqua dial but would not pay retail for one.

Then that would make a Submariner, what, a $5,000 watch?

I find it to be no more out of line than a Datejust. Really, not being too dismissive, most every watch in the ‘luxury’ watch space is way overpriced based on what it actually is. I get your point the price on this one relative to another brand/model, but I like the watch, I bought the watch. Really that easy.

It really is a super nice watch.

I saw it yesterday at the boutique right next to the Aqua. It made the latter look green rather than teal.

Harrods in London had all of them on display. The blue is the best of the steel versions imo. Titanium looks great as well.
Tough first world choices!

Now having seen them all, my very unscientific study shows the following: black is #1 followed very closely by aqua, then blue, then titanium and then white.

I like but not enough to consider it. If I were an IWC enthusiast, it would be a no brainer.

The blue looks nicer than the aqua I think. None of them screams come get me though.

If I didn't already have other date-only steel sport watches, I might get one.

I tried one on in person, it's really nice. The build quality is top-notch. I wish it had a micro-adjust mechanism in the clasp, some hidden mechanism like the ones on the Nautilus or the Overseas. I know that IWC is now offering an alternative clasp that has micro-adjust, but that requires replacing the clasp to one that looks completely different (it's the same clasp used on the bracelet of the Mark XX), which completely changes the aesthetic of the watch, so that's just a stopgap solution.

I tried the Aqua on a few days ago- was available in store- I really liked it. Fit great, nice dial and color, highly legible… just couldn’t get over price tag for what it is.

Not had the pleasure to try the Blue dial yet. But interested to see what combinations come next in the model line up.
Titanium model now feels and looks great to me but with a different dial it could get better.
Rumour is a black ceramic Ingenieur in 2025 full case and bracelets with sapphire case back. Not sure what the price will be but will be tempting.

Honestly was pretty underwhelmed. I much preferred the Aqua side-by-side. Something "special" about that dial that isn't matched by the rather pedestrian blue. YMMV.
