I really like the Pikachu/YML dial but I hate that the indices don’t have black surrounds like they did on the 11XXXX models. Those black indices pulled everything together for me. Because of that, I actually like the black dial with gold outline subdials. However, I’d much prefer full colored subdials like on the Pikachu, Ghost, Baby Le Mans. In addition, YG is a lot flashier, which goes both ways. On one hand, I want the added flash if I’m spending $40,000 on a watch. On the other hand, I don’t want unnecessary attention if I wear the watch to work or in any other situation where I wouldn’t want the attention. I tried on the older model Pikachu/YML and wasn’t terrribly impressed with how it felt on my wrist, however I much prefer the case of the 12XXXX so it’s not an accurate comparison.
I do think the 116518 looks better due to the black indices. The new one lacks that little contrast in that area, but the new clasp with the Glidelock is a MASSIVE improvement. I can’t state this enough. The 116518 requires exact fit of the OF strap to get a comfortable wearing experience , and for some that might be a little tricky. The 126519 so far has been incredibly comfortable to wear thanks to the clasp improvement.

I bought the 519 for the reason being that I wanted an OF Daytona wearing experience but without the flashiness of the 518. And so far it has been exactly that.

Based on your collection, either one will fit the bill. Perhaps YG may give you more variety, considering you already have 2 SS watches.

Very interesting year for the Oysterflex Daytonas. I think the only way Rolex can sustain interest is through limiting production even further. Otherwise, they’ll start sitting at ADs and will eventually have to be discounted.

The current Ghost gets my vote. I hope to receive one soon.
