Non-quickset question

To advance the date on my watch I have to turn crown counter clockwise. Is it alright to turn the watch clockwise to turn back the date ? This would be useful if I do not use watch for quite a while and I have to correct the date faster by turning the date back. thank you

You can turn your crown either way without harm.
