Icon12 Giving up 312 for a 190

Hi

Not sure if I am going to do the right thing

Selling a 4 months 312 to fund for a used 4 years 190 ?

Am I nuts ? Need to top up a fair bit for this

I recall someone (cannot recall his nick) in this forum traded a 190 for a 312 sometime back. Will like to hear from his view (if he is reading this).

Thanks.....

You be the judge, I cannot as I have never been a fan of the Radiomir style.

312

190

Hopefully I can help, as I have owned both. The 190 is a fine piece and wears fanatastically. The markers are slightly larger than the 312. What drove me to the 312 was the fact that I only intend on owning 1 Panerai (at least for now) and the Luminor has all the DNA. When people think of a PAM, the crown lock is just there.

Good luck!!!

So thinking of a switch.

I remember you are the guy I am looking for (i remember your avtar)

Yes, 312 have all the trade marks and the crown lock.

Rad do have their history too - Panerai started with rad case.

My tought is that since 190 is not in production and 312 is still a ongoing production. It will be easiler to get a 312 later, if I need to.
Am I telling myself to go ahead ????????

It will be easier to get a 312, although you never know if/when they'll stop production. There are already more 312's out there than 190's though.

Outside of the Luminor aspect, also keep in mind the differences regarding strap changes and scratches. The 190's case is totally polished, so it will pick up hairlines much more easily. Also, changing the strap on a RAD is a bit more involved.

Both are SWEET watches. Good luck!

Those of us that are infected with this sickness will have to make decisions like this many times. It seems no matter what choice we make over time there will be a lingering pang of regret. The truth is, we want every Panerai ever made and if we had them, we'd be anxiously awaiting Baselworld for the next new model. Follow your heart and enjoy your watches because we all know this won't be your last. As my Dad always said, "Sometimes the wanting is more fun than the having". Best of Luck!

I like both of the watches. The one niggle that I have when wearing my Rad is that I find myself glancing down for the date on occassions. A minor niggle I know. It will really come down to which watch sings the most to you. Maybe both watches?

I don't have the 190 but a 111 and a 210. I love both but gotta tell you the Radiomir is just worlds more comfortable and a little more dressy IMO. Wouldn't want to miss the 111 as I have lots of fun changing the straps ...

ya, both is nice. I just cannot afford to hold on to both at this point of time.
So I am thinking getting once that is off production now, and follow up on the 312 at some point of time later.
