New To Panerai Please Help

Hi all,

I am soon to be the proud owner of a Panerai thanks to DavidSW. I have never owned one, or even seen one in person but I have fallen in love with the style. My questions today are:

Where can I purchase replacement straps? Do AD's sell them? What is the cost of an authentic Panerai strap vs a high quality aftermarket?

Last question what is the width of strap (at the lugs) needed for a Panerai 312?

Thanks to everyone in advance for your help!

Congrats in advance

The 312 takes a 24mm strap at the lugs. ADs & boutiques sell OEM straps and buckles, but no doubt you will soon be venturing into the wonderful world of aftermarket straps. Greg Stevens (GSD) is a good place to start... http://gregstraps.blogspot.com/

Have fun and please post pics of the new arrival...

Cheers

Welcome to Panerai ownership. I recently purchased my 176k from TRF and I feel like a kid with a new toy! I decided to get a strap from Toshi Straps. Great service and very good quality leather. However, there seems to be endless vendors for these. Have fun in the search.

Congrats on the excellent choice of your 312. You'll find that there's a plethora of choices in the aftermarket strap world vs the OEM selections. You'll particularly love the look of distressed/vintage straps on that 1950 style case - very retro looking.

Congrats on soon becoming a 312 owner. There is a huge range of straps to choose from in all sorts of price ranges, materials etc., so my recommendation is to take some time to research and see what you like and don't rush into it, because the costs start adding up quite quickly (speaking from experience :) ). The Paneristi forum and Paneraisource both have a pretty big list of reputable aftermarket strapmakers that you can check out.

Cheers and have fun.

She's a beauty! Wear it in good health.

OEM straps are 24mm at the lug and taper to 22mm. However, it's worthwhile to venture out into the world of non-tapered straps with longer tails. Most third party strap makers cater to this style which I find very striking and preferable to the standard OEM style.
