GMT choices.....
I've been reading posts on GMT's. I note the 88 gets a lot of following. I can see why; its a beautiful watch!
I think that if I were to pull the trigger on my 1st PAM, I would like to go with a bracelet. IMO, the 297 is less blingy than the 161. What do you think? |

Joe, I agree having a bracelet option is nice.
![]() To me the 161 is a stunning piece and the one that first got my attention about Panerai. The older style bracelet is so uniquely Panerai. You always have the option of a strap in addition to the metal. ![]() |

I'm partial to the 320 myself... The way to hide the GMT is genius, IMO. And then of course, there's the 233, 270.... All can be placed on bracelets, but I would leave the strap option open, as it's nice to be able to switch back and forth.

Joe, I'm with you. I'm having the same struggle as you. I used to love the old style bracelet and when the new one came out I wasn't that crazy about it. I then started leaning to a 312 but now I think I love the new bracelet style and think the old one is a little 'too much'. I'm torn between the 297 and the 299 (or maybe the 352)

For what it's worth the new style bracelet will work on the 88. I put mine on for..oh,..about 5 minutes. I just had a problem with a polished case and a brushed bracelet.
Works fine on my 24 where the brushed bezel offsets the bracelet. As stated, best to get a watch born with metal and have the capability of going to the strap when you want. ![]() |

I've got a lot to learn with PAM's. Is the M serial the newest serial or is it the L? |

For me, PAM00029. It is a special edition this year, but I think it will largely fly under the raday b/c of the 339 and 360. I say, if you want a GMT, that is the ONE to get.

I like the 320, even though it's not a 'true' GMT. Such an uncluttered look, and hiding the GMT hand is nifty.

Pam 297
I think the PAM 297 is the best deal of the GMTs and a beautiful watch as well.
I like the combination brushed and polished case and the painted dial. The new style brushed bracelet will fit on many of the recent production cases including my 024K Submersible. |
