Looking for a new dress watch any ideas ?

I'm currently looking for a new dress watch and was wondering if anyone has any ideas. I don't mind if the watch is new or pre-owned  and I'm looking to spend up to £3500. I've been looking a IWC and JLC at the moment and was wondering if anyone has any alternative ideas

Omega AT should go nicely in that price range. Not sure which IWC and JLC dress watch though. I'd thought a Portuguese or Master Control is abit over the budget (obviously depends on the model and condition)

How about a Panerai Radiomir 183/210/380 models?

:-)

I was looking at the IWC portofino which fits Nicely in that range or a pre-owned master reserve de marche

JLC in that price range. Nothing beats it at that price point.

I like the portofino but it wear somewhat small on me. I have a 7.5 wrist

I only have small wrists so both JLC and IWC are good for me. I'm looking at a reserve de marche or master calendar at the moment. Both have gone for 3500 on the website before but unfortunately they only have unused ones at the moment for 4750

Matt, have you tried any of the possible contenders to see which one actually sings?
Personally I'd go with a JLC.

2011 Zenith Captain range, classic proportions with a in-house movement. Also the recently released Breitling Transocean looks visually appealing, can't comment on the movement as to wether there is a new Breitling in-house mvt or outsourced mvt.

Good luck

Check out the JLC Master Control (Q1398420), it's a 40mm case and a beautiful piece. I saw it priced very close to your budget limit in Amsterdam. Sorry I'm not familiar with UK prices.

Good luck!

Great reviews, superior movement to the JLC and IWC within same price range.

JLC, Piaget. Or one of the GP 1966 range.

Found out since it has no papers so not so sure because it isn't dated so could be old

Breitlin Transocean is the new inhouse movement. Looks very good. 43mm in size but not you typical bling breitling

if i were to get a strictly dress watch it would be jlc master control.

its just a plain dial no lume with a small date at 3 oclock and leather strap.

but then isnt is just a waste of money? might as well get a kenneth cole.

It would be at least 5-6 years old. I wouldn't go for it without paperwork unless you know the last owner.

Yes it would but you would need plots, deployant to fit the band.

Thanks for the advice thomas I wasn't sure about it anyway I would prefer the 15300 because of the clear case back, I think it is a really nice touch
