Panerai on Science Channel's 'How It's Made' last night
As the title states, the Science Channel had an episode of How It's Made and it featured Panerai. It showed the machining of the case, assembly of the movements, laser etching, water pressure testing, etc. etc. I was very impressed with the process and it made me want a Luminor more than ever. I don't own a Pam yet, but for all you fans out there I highly recommend looking up the episode and catching a glimpse of how your current/future Pams were manufactured!
Edit: I believe it was a Pam 00299 they were focusing on. Great looking watch. |

I think it's a 328. 299 has a painted dial vs sandwich, has date cyclops, does not have clear caseback, and is not a 1950 style case. Cool episode though. I was able to find it on YouTube.

Haha, well there you go. I obviously don't know very much about Panerai, but I definitely admire all the fine watches I see posted in this sub-forum. I see one on the horizon for me in 2013!
