Are hour markers interchangeable between models?

I recently acquired a watch with a broken crystal and a missing hour marker. The watch is a 1971 6694 Oysterdate manual wind watch and it is proving very difficult to find a marker that matches the others. I have the opportunity to buy an Air King dial with markers for under $50 bucks. My question is whether or not the markers from an Air King (or any other model for that matter) would be interchangeable with the markers on the model I described above?

Thanks for your time!

The markers are different from model to model year to year and the holes in the dial are made specifically for original markers and their hole patterns. I know not much help but you'll have to destroy a dial to save a dial. Rikki

perhaps you could place an ad (including pic) in the want to buy section. someone may have a correct dial to sell you at a decent price.

Thank you for your input; however, I have a follow up question. I have no need for the Air King dial that I have, so if I was willing to destroy that dial, I would be able to have the markers from it put on the 6694?

If the markers look the same give it a shot if holes don't line up a very small amout of 2 part epoxy will work after you file off the pins underneath but remember it's a one shot one chance to get it right or the glue will ruin the paint on the dial if it spreads. Rikki
