Would you? ....

Hey all

I got the call from my AD about that blue sub 116619

However as you all know I wanted to be at one to two watch Max. So adding it isn't an option (psychologically speaking)

Would you guys trade

16610lv Y serial (lime insert - sweet)
And
26230 AP ROC white dial 41mm

For the 116619 as a sole watch?

I wouldn't be trading but rather selling the two and buying the sub

It would end up even Steven when dust settles

What say my friends on TRF?

Keep in mind it'll be my only watch (I'm very close to selling my entire collection, as opposed to watches I just wear - so grabbing a collection piece to wear wouldn't even be an option)

Thanks guys

I stopped asking Jess as she's sick of my flipping!

It's a tuff call since all 3 are great pieces. You had a gold GMT, so you already know whether you like wearing a solid gold piece everyday and only you can make that call. However, I know you love testing watches, so send me a PM regarding your y serial!

If you're serious about going down to one watch, then do it. Otherwise, the LV and ROC are great pieces.

As much as I love the blue Submariner I must say I'd prefer to keep the 16610 and the AP.

That sub is a bad watch. I would love to have that watch as my one and only.

I say do it, and post pics!

Hell no, only because one watch is not enough imho. However if you're to be a one watch guy the 116619 is an excellent choice.

Will I can't keep up with all your watches coming and going, sooo jealous

Sell all and go for one gold? (or one watch you really love?) I'd do it in a heartbeat and almost did recently. I wanted to sell my SubC and SS Daytona to help fund a YG Daytona but I managed to scrape through and keep the SubC.

Do you wear your watch for everything? I have a 116619 and absolutely love it, my favorite watch of all time.....but there is no way this watch is getting worn to work or to mow the lawn etc. I am not a fanatic by any means with my watches; my sub LV is my do everything watch (don't take it off for any activity) & the 116619 is the weekend/vacation watch.

I sold my Yachtmaster and a Panerai to help fund mine and don't regret it a bit.

No! You just got the LV a few days ago and wanted one badly. Why on earth would you part with it now? Sorry but makes no sense to me Wil! With that said do whatever makes you happy.

I wear my YG pretty much all the time but there is a reason I kept the SS SubC and it's to fill in the gaps where a YG watch is inappropriate or might get some serious damage (I'm ok with scratches). Funny enough, the SubC only gets proper wrist time when I'm on holiday so completely opposite to you. Any other time, the Daytona is on.

I am getting my wife a new DD soon and I want to photo document it for the forum over the first couple of years because she is especially hard on her DJ. She wears it like it's a £20 Casio and if anyone is going to give it a true test of real life wearing, it will be her.

If possible. If do the trade and pick up a speedy as a beater, just I'm case.

I think the SMURF is a fantastic watch and I would love to own one, however, I don't think it could ever be my "only" watch, not because it isn't fantastic, but because my passion to collect keeps growing. My thought is similar to Steelerfan's, enjoy what you have found and bought. Don't let the "hunt" drive you into a place where you can only have one watch and expect yourself to be happy with just one. Maybe wait on the SMURF for a little while, unless the deal is just fantastic and you can make a little money on a flip (which didnt sound like the case)

That's a tough one. But I like the idea (and practice) of having a single watch.

Go for it!

I understand the desire for gold and the desire for the ROC so I got this. If there was a single gold piece I wanted I would trade 2 SS for it.

I would wait and get the WG sub as your next watch..... But I love variety and wearing watches of all types and designs.

Every watch I have was bought after research and thought and I can't really understand the way some people can just discard them so quickly and move onto the next.....

I actually have the WG Sub in my collection and even though it's an absolutely beautiful watch, I still don't wear it all the time or indeed much more than quite a few others in my collection. It's also fairly heavy and I'm not sure I could see it as my one and only everyday watch..... More of a Ferrari to bring out on lovely sunny days to drive into the countryside .......
