Icon5 Are you a Flipper? How many Rolex or other watches you already flipped?

Since when you started collecting watch? How many Rolex or other brands you already flipped? Can you make list here? With pics it will be great.
I started collecting watch since 2005, and my 1st watch is PAM 112 H serial.
My 1st Rolex is Subdate 16610 Y serial.
I already flipped 33 watches in around 11 years. This is my list :

1. Tag Heuer Professional 2000 combination link (my high school watch)
2. PAM 112 H serial
3. Submariner Date 16610 Y serial
4. GMT 1675 Pepsi
5. Explorer II polar dial
6. Oyster Date (forget the ref)
7. Oyster Date 1500
8. 16610 LV
9. Sub ND COSC
10.Milgauss white dial
11.PAM 111
12.PAM 183
13.PAM 000
14.PAM 250 Daylight
15.PAM 232
16.PAM 190
17.PAM 26K
18.PAM 249 aka Cali
19.PAM 127 aka Fiddy
20.PAM Pre-A4
21.PAM 372
22.GMT Pepsi 1675 (again)
23.Sub ND-C
24.BLNR
25.Sub ND-C (bought again)
26.BLNR (again)
27.Seiko Marine Master SBDX001
28.Seiko Darth Tuna
29.Seiko Tuna vintage (forget the ref)
30.Seiko Marine Master Anniversary 50th SBDX012
31.Grand Seiko (forget the ref)
32.SDDS Deepsea
33.Speedmaster Pro

And now still keep 1675 (my 3rd Pepsi) Radial dial and 5513 Maxi I dial.
Am I considering a Flipper?
So what your list? Just for fun. thanks for sharing.

Kindly Regards, Heru (TR)

I've flipped a couple of times; I find the process unnerving, depressing, and expensive. I buy to keep and will sell when I no longer want expensive watches.

Yup. Guilty.

I'm not even going to go into specifics for the sake of shock to some of our members...and my embarrassment of course.

But hey, I am starting to figure out what I like and what's not for me. And it's been a fun ride. And...it's not like I wouldn't have blown the money on something else. So there's hope.

I don't flip much anymore, if at all but I honestly lost count years ago. It's that many I'm ashamed to say.

I flipped all my Rolex back then, when i seduce to the darkside, and become a Risti for years. But now I think I'm back for good, and starting collecting Rolex again.
But I never regret it, I meet many good Guys from Rolex and Risti around the world, brotherhood is the most important thing.
Some of 'em are like Brothers to me.

I could have written this exact post myself

As for finding what is for me, I have found myself in a Rolex heavy collection and think I will stay there. Been around the block with many of the other brands, but Rolex sport models - GMT, Sub, SD, etc - are what I find I want on my wrist.

I've only sold a few watches, and it's been because I just didn't wear them. I would not consider myself a flipper.

I spend a lot of time considering what I want in my collection, so usually by the time I decide (and save up the money) I am pretty damn sure that I want and will keep what I'm buying.

At first I was a buy and hold for 6 month to a year so I could really live with and enjoy the watch. Then i had a period of moving in and out pretty quickly, like a month or two. I found that to be too expensive with the loss I would take on each piece. even though on some it would only be a couple hundred, others were a bit more. I started to try and get a collection that i could see myself happy with for a long time and for the most part I have acheived that. Most of my watches are going on 3, 4, 5, even 9 years. I do leave a couple slots to move in and out of when it strikes me. This has worked out well for me.

I started out as a keeper then the last few months I became a flipper. Flipped over half of my watches but I'm now back to a keeper.

I never hold a watch more than 2.5 years
5 watches that i hold for a long time (around 2.5 years) :
Submariner Date 16610 maybe because this one is my 1st Rolex have a sentimental value
PAM 232 because i can't sell it in the right price, so I must wait for a good offer
PAM Pre-A4 same i wait for a good deal that time
PAM 372 also same, looking for a good deal
Deepsea because I like it, so I keep it for a long time
The fastest I flipped are Speedy Pro and PAM 250, around 3 weeks, not because they're not good, but maybe because I can't stand busy dial, I like clean dial. For me, chrono is too busy.

I do NOT consider myself a flipper, but here' my journey:

1986 ....bought new TT Sub.....and still have it
1998 ....bought used 16570 Polar
2002 ....bought new Cartier Roadster
2005 ....bought new WG DD
2007 ....bought new Panerai 44mm
2010 ....flipped 11670 for Milgauss GV
2013 ....bought new SS Daytona white
2014 ....joined TRF
2014 ....sold Panerai
2014 ....sold Cartier
2014 ....bought new 216570 Polar...and still have it
2014 ....bought new BLNR
2014 ....sold Daytona
2015 ....sold DD
2015 ....sold BLNR
2015 ....sold Milgauss
2015 ....bought new AP 15400
2015 ....bought new AP SS Diver
2015 ....bought new 116710 LN....and still have it
2016 ....sold both APs
2016 ....bought new BLRO.....and love it.

...so I now see that I have been through 13 watches to get to my current 4! My next move will be further consolidation down to three....two out and one in (either PM or vintage).

And I'm not a flipper!
