Etched Crown on my GMT BLNR?

Hello all,

I recently purchased a Rolex GMT Batman or otherwise known as the BLNR. I've owned other Rolex watches iand know that they have an etched crown I think after the 2002 they went production date. However this watch does not have an etched crown in the crystal. Can anyone tell me if they do not do this for the GMT as I know my sight is going as I'm getting older but with my glasses on I still can't see it. Thanks in advance!

Numerous threads on the LEC. Simply do a search. I'm sure it's there.

LEC stands for laser etched coronet. Bounce some light off the side of the crystal and it will appear around the 6'o clock position. In general, the crown etching is not visible to the human eye.

An LED flashlight works best.

It's there. A flashlight, loupe, and various angles will reveal that sucker.

GMT batman is not a Rolex name.

From Rolex standpoint it's a GMT BLNR , not a batman nor a BL and R ...

BLNR stand for BLeue NoiRe (blue black in English).

Led light at one angle and a photo from another, then zoom in and you should see it.

Should be above the '6' hour marker.

You want to be viewing it side on also

It's barely visible, and alsmost transparent to the naked eye. You have to hold it at an angle and really look close.

Found it this morning with a magnifying glass the small, more, high intensity, circle inside the glass. Yep, she is there and all is well.
