PIP on ceramic sub date gone !

My son informed me his pip is gone from his subc . I know that rolex can replace the pip without having to buy a bezel unlike a few years ago. Any members that have gone through this. Did you use an AD on site repair or send out to RSC ? How long did it take and the cost? Thank you !

Wont be cheap from RSC, I'd just leave it until it needs a service one day, unless he needs it for diving if he uses it for that.

Is a ceramic odds are it will be a new bezel - they wont just replace the pip, actually it goes for all bezels. All or nothing.

Both the white gold chaton and the pip can be replaced without replacing the bezel. For just the pip if the white gold chaton is in good shape it will be in the 20-30$ range, the chaton + pip is around 100$ to change.

It just takes a bit of work to do.

Sadly, not the first time I've read about this. Clearly a weak point of the design. Hope you get it sorted without too much hassle.

It is a specific Rolex tool, if independents can service a sub then this can be done as well.

Your advice and feedback is greatly appreciated. It's a true resource to the rest of us, and I for one am very thankful.

The luminescent pearl at 12 o’clock on the ceramic bezel insert.

That's it? Dropped my Sub C Date on the bathroom floor of hotel two days ago, and just noticed that the pip is shattered. Luckily no other damage, but I'd like to get it replaced asap. Can I send it to RSC without having to do full service?
