Omega Aquaterra Service - Original Parts returned
I just got my watch recently serviced. It was running fast and had to go in for an adjustment. To my surprise, the hands and crown got replaced. The original parts were sent back to me.
Is this typical for Omega to do? What's their thinking for sending back the original parts and why replace. I'm not sure what purpose the spare parts will serve me. My understanding is that the hands are white gold. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk |

There has a been a move towards keeping watches all original.
This way the owner of the watch can have the original parts and cannot blame the repair department for removing any parts. And the used parts do have some value. If they are not paying you for the old parts they should return them. |

My guess is Omega were being thorough in choosing to replace those parts. Perhaps the hands were tarnished or had a little bit of play in the way they fit.
How’s the watch performing now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

By returning the old parts it could be their way of proving they did the work they charged you for.

I had my AquaTerra 2500 serviced by Omega about 8 years ago and they did the same thing. I think it’s cool of them to do that, after all they are your parts, not theirs.

Yeah, I definitely agree. Was pretty shocked to get the original parts back (knowing they are gold).
I wonder how far this rule goes for Omega. What if it's an expensive part like a gold rotor or a gold case issue.. would they return the original PM part that experience? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk |
