Tubes from AD?

O.K. I need 2 x 24mm tubes. I have absolutely no idea what they should cost. So if I go into an AD next week can you guys give me an idea:
(a) if they will sell them to me?
(b) what they might usually charge or I could expect to pay?
(c) will they insist on fitting them or will they require me to buy a full strap?

Thanks

My guess is something like $20 for a pair?

a) Yes,if they have stock
b) Dont know
c) They slide out.It takes 10 seconds. You can send the strap to me and I'll return it via reg airmail, all for the bargain price of $100 !!

Steve why dont you just use the tubes from the OEM strap ????

Many strapmakers that can provide them for very little money.

I would suspect they will just give you a set. If they charge you $20 that would be robbery, you can buy sets of tubes from Panatime.com for $5. Just wear your Pam into the AD and check out some straps then casually mention that you need tubes. I went to my local Panerai AD last week and though I did buy a brown Alligator strap from them they gave me a $40 travel case and an IWC baseball hat for free.

Being serious though, you can buy the tubes off ebay for a couple of quid, pretty cheap and should arrive within a week or so.

Wow I'm surprised you guys have never been in the same position and gone to buy a set of tubes from an AD.

Maybe I'm setting a precedent

I bought a bag of 20 for $18 on ebay. They're simple metal tubes cut to length.

Email one of the boutiques, they will usually just post you some free, almost no matter where you are at.

Sweet guys thank you for all the offers and support.

I will try my local AD (there is only 1 in my State) and see how I go.

I was planning to go this week but man the weather has been a killer here 100F to 120F

Regards
