For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted a Rolex. I finally pulled this trigger this Sunday on a 36mm OP 116000. This has been my dream Rolex for over a year.

The 36mm case is extremely comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. And that 3 6 9 dial... I’m amazed how dynamic it is. In some light it’s sapphire blue, in others it’s almost black. Simply stunning.

I wanted to wait for the right time to enter the word of Rolex. My daughter (first child) was born in September. It just so happens the September birthstone is sapphire. I knew this was the watch for me. I look forward to the many adventures I will have with this watch, knowing that someday it will be passed down to my daughter.

That's a cool dial, almost like a blue sunburst Explorer dial

That is beautiful! The 36mm size is perfect as well. And I have seen that sunburst dial many times, and it is stunning.

Very versatile watch. Great with any outfit, from very casual to dress.

Congratulations on your first child and the first Rolex to mark the occasion!

The 36mm OP is a great watch; I've owned a couple and they still call me!!! FWIW their history is remarkable; the OP was the Rolex that climbed Everest with Hillary!!! Congratulations on your first!!!

Congrats - I bought the exact same watch as my first Rolex as well. The blue dial looks great and changes hues under different lighting.
