Newbie Question on Rolex Value/Pricing

I am brand new to the Rolex world...so please forgive me if I am breaking any rules on the forum. My boyfriend wants me to sell his 2000(yr) GMT Master II Rolex. It has a red and black bevel. He does not have the box that it came in. What is the best way for me to sell this and get a fair price? Can you go to a Rolex dealer and get the watch "authorized"? Can you just sell it to a watch-shop? Online auction? Please help!
Thank you in advance for the advice...and again, sorry for the ignorance.

He wants me to sell it FOR him...not TO me.
He has no computer skills.

if you have papers your fine, just say no box included.. if u have no box and no papers your pretty much SOL because given no references/etc noone is gonna wanna take the chance.. u can send it in for service and the paperwork you get back will say "yes its real" but the service is like too much money to make it worth your while..

what serial is it?
papers included?
does he remember where he bought it (from AD?) maybe they would write him out something if they remember him or he's in computer..

bunch of routes but without good references i doubt you'd see much $ out of it.. just have him keep it.

Maybe put it on Ebay or become steady members of watch forums and use the sale sections for the best selling price. Selling to a Rolex dealer or other watch store is the worst option.

Okay...we are going to try and go back to the store where he bought it to see if they can help us.
The description is as follows: The face of the watch is black. It says ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE above the hands. There are four hands. One hand is silver with a white circle toward the end. There is another hand that is very short and white with an almost-peace sign on it (my ignorance is really showing here). Then the other two hands are white and silver and red with a white arrow. Below the hands it says GMT-MASTER II SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED. At the bottom it says SWISS MADE. The bevel is red and black. The band is stainless steel and has the number 78790A on the inside.
What kind of Rolex is this? It seems like there are a thousand different MASTER II's!!!

Selling it back to the store is the best idea.

They will know attest the originality of the watch and offer a warranty with it when they sell.

You should get a reasonable price.
