Deprecation of a pre-owned platinum

If someone purchased a pre-owned platinum (118206) what is the average deprecation on the item? If the watch is purchased at today's market value (23-30k).

Practically 0. It’s still a pre-owned platinum. Unless you lose the box and papers or significantly damage it. Maybe it’ll bleed a grand or two every five years or so. Look at older models to get an exact answer.

Your loss will basically be whatever the dealers cut if you trade it in/sell it is. The depreciation already happened. If you sell privately you should be able to maintain almost all the value, so long as you take care of it/keep the box and papers.

Every thread you start about this gets locked. I’ve tried giving honest, thoughtful insight. But Cmon man, again?!?!

At this point, a basic knowledge of math and a simple four function calculator will give you the answer you are looking for.

Frankly, if you have to ask (especially multiple times), it’s not for you.

Deprecation? That sounds obscene.

Could probably get away with a single function calculator honestly

Bear in mind the preowned precious metal buyer is a different breed - he wants to pay as little as possible having price checked in advance against every example in the known universe. He doesn't care if he's going home without a watch today.

I think this is like the 10th thread you have started regarding depreciation, cost, value of PT etc etc......

all your threads are related to cost of ownership and how much you wont or will lose. Sounds like you should not be buying any watch imho.

If the thought of deprecation worries you so much that you must consult strangers, please don't buy the watch. You are not able to afford it.

any PM watch bought at a price, unless it is a steal, will sell for less than you bought it for.

If I am a buyer, I would look at the condition of the watch and the year of the original purchase, the older watch should give more discount even they are the same condition.

If you’re asking multiple times, in multiple threads, yours isn’t high enough. Stick to stainless.
