Only a few weeks until Halloween, post your costume pics.

I'm breaking the rules - 1.) it's a picture of our eldest and not of me and 2.) he's not even in costume - but I love it anyway, so I'm sharing!

This was 4 years back.

Short story- a couple we know was throwing a Halloween costume party. We (her) rsvp’d, I went all out and rented a $350 Batman suit for a few days. I ordered it about a month and a half in advance and then guilt set in for spending a fair amount of money on a costume, so my brain started going about how I could make it worthwhile. I got in touch with the Ronald McDonald house in my area and they were more than welcoming to my idea of coming by for an hour or so and handing out candy bars to the kids in costume (I even spent the time going forward practicing my Batman voice). The day came and I had a variety of full size candy bars and I walked in to the Ronald McDonald house and met quite a few very inspirational children and hopefully made their days. The boy in the picture with me said I was his hero and every time I noticed he was attentive to my every move. He wanted so bad to talk with me every minute he could because to him I was Batman. I hope I helped brighten that child’s life as much as he did mine that day.

Thank you for the kind words but those kids helped me more that day than I did them.

You both just brightened my day. One of the best posts I’ve ever read.

We have a themed costume. If it materializes (may not if there are shipping delays) I’ll post pics.

I’m glad its helping people in a positive way, like it did me. Here’s another from that day.

Looking forward to seeing your costume!

Side note- I won first place at the costume contest I had to go to. Lol

Love it!

My family used to volunteer at a nursing home. Haven’t been lately due to visiting restrictions from you-know-what. Spending time with others and just chatting, getting smiles on your/their faces is priceless. I miss it.

Your idea is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing these pictures.

You deserve first place for costume of the party but also recognition as a real life action-hero!

We all have the capability of being that person, it just takes the initiative.

That being said thank you. Hopefully I can be an example to at least one person and it will go from there.
