Panerai service question..

Hey guys - just wondering if a Panerai service is similar to the Rolex service experience. Specifically, I would like to know if Panerai tears the watch apart, refinishing it to a degree that, when you receive the serviced watch, it appears nearly brand new. I know Rolex is famous for returning watches after service that are in amazing condition, with all surfaces being refinished.

Any experiences you've had would be fun to hear about. Thanks

I sent my PAM 112 away for an overhaul and it came back perfect, see pics below. Carefully wrapped in a plastic covering and perfectly poished. Very impressed with the service!!

Good to see RIS in the UK did a decent job, unfortunately when they did mine they forgot to do the 'valet' and it came back with minimal polishing, although it was nice of them to charge me and then state that i didn't ask for it to be valeted, even though the receipt states i paid for it

Oh yeah, and the movement servicing was great as well, i had the watch working flawlessly for a year, it went in for a service just because i was selling it and wanted it to be 100% for the new owner, unfortunately it came back and lasted a month before the movement stopped and it was found that a part of the movement had fallen off.

So in short, are they as good as Rolex, not a hope in hell is the answer to that one, i'm a bit Panerai fan but i've had nothing but crap from their service centre and from their offices, thankfully my 233 is only a year old so won't require a service for a long time!
