PAM 1441 Dial change?

It looks like at some point this year, Panerai changed the PAM 1441 dial from numerals to batons. It also seems like they raised the price and changed the default strap configuration. Nothing else, including 9010 movement seems to have changed.

See old vs new images attached. (Images not mine, just from Google)

How often does this happen where they'll change the dial of a watch without changing the model number? PAM 233 (dot dial vs AM/PM) is the other one that I can think of.

Yes hacking, no reset. Same 9010 movement. I'm an owner of the numeral dial 1441 but had a chance to handle the baton dial 1441 at a boutique.
