AP Royal Oak 15300 Black Dial
Hello again all,
It's my yearly Marie Kondo time. Any piece I don't find myself wearing often needs to go for something else. This is the first piece that I think I might miss as I think it's an amazing piece. It looks phenomenal just sitting in the watch box. However, I don't often find the occasion to wear it out anymore. It was always a watch I have worn just for special occasions in the first place. This is the AP Royal Oak 15300 black dial. My wrist is about 7", and I found this to be the perfect size at 39mm. This watch wears very large, and the 41mm simply does not sit right on my wrist. This, to my knowledge, is the only modern RO that is 39mm with a seconds hand and date complication. For me, I need to see movement on the dial, so a seconds hand is a must. Furthermore, I'm in favor of the date complication on any sports watch. Before I saw this watch in person for the first time, I thought it was ugly in pictures. If there was ever a watch to see in person, this one is it. The way the light reflects across the surfaces is blinding, and you can easily tell someone is wearing it from across the room. Truly a unique piece and worthy of its lore. I purchased it several years ago from a dealer, but it was heavily polished. The next year, I had it sent in for a full refresh. New case, new bracelet, movement service, the works. It did not come with an original box/papers. AP in FL offered to re-issue me a certificate of authenticity, but I'd have to send it to Switzerland and wait 2 months plus pay a fee. I passed at the time thinking I didn't want to wait and how could they service it if it wasn't the real deal anyway? The watch only really has one blemish: a small ding in the side of the bezel next to the crown. Tried to get a pic of it, but it's small and hard to photograph. There are a couple extremely small surface lines on the bracelet that I literally can't pickup with the camera. Otherwise, it is in nearly perfect condition. What this purchase comes with is the following: -watch (obviously) -original bracelet (it currently is sporting the new bracelet, so yes, you are getting both) -1.5 link for the new bracelet -all links for new bracelet -AP cushy leather carrying case (pictured in the background) -AP display box (not the original, just cardboard) -service documentation Asking price for this discontinued investment piece is $57,900. Includes overnight shipping CONUS, or we can meet face to face in the Chicagoland area. Bank wire is preferred. Paypal for extra fee. I will not ship international as I have no experience doing so. I am on these forums about once per year or so selling a piece or two. I can point you in the direction of the members that have bought from me before or the people I have bought from if you need a reference. I would be happy to take any additional photos and send them to you as well. My email is my username @yahoo.com but would prefer to be contacted through TRF to cut down on spammers and scammers. Thanks for looking. Regards, Mark |
