Christmas gift for wife...

In 1992 I bought my wife a SS DJ on our honeymoon in Bermuda. Last year she shattered the crystal with some bits getting under the dial. She does not really appreciate the whole Mechanical Watch and Rolex thing so she never got if fixed. However, it DID really bother me to have a nice Rolex in the house that was not in working order. So this Christmas, I got the crystal replaced and the watch serviced. I still don't think she will appreciate it, but at least I FEEL BETTER.

Here are the before and after pics.

Well, they've certainly done a very good job; but, just between you and me, I still wouldn't trust those older Jubilee links too much.

The inter-connecting pins have obviously stretched way toooooo much and even one single weak pin along the way could spell disaster.

Have they assured you that the bracelet won't break? Have they been able to check it completely for any weaknesses? I would make sure of that first......or else just get a new similar bracelet for complete peace of mind.

Good luck - JJ

What a great job, like a new watch! She'll appreciate your thoughtfulness if not the watch.

Wow, that bracelet is scary. I'm surprised the RSC didn't mention anything about that

Yes, please do that.....BEFORE she starts to wear it. A good mint condition replacement bracelet won't be very expensive.

Some of the guys here on TRF will be able to help you out - guys like Steve Mulholland, Oscar (bodybump), etc. who specialise in spares and accessories.

Good luck - JJ
