the time knob of my Pepsi GMT master came out help please

Hey guys I really need your help on this one. I have an old GMT master the Pepsi edition(blue and red). Well today I was going to adjust the time since
I haven't worn it in a couple of days and once I unscrewed the knob for the time I can't remember if I turned but when I pulled I was
Left with the whole piece on my hand but out of the watch. I went ahead and put it back in but now I can't adjust the time
And it feels kind of rough when I turn it. Please help me I don't want to have take it to a jeweler and pay a fortune or damage it myself

What do you want us to tell you? Either you are a fairly competent amateur watchmaker or you need professional help.

From your description, I assume the crown and stem came out when you pulled it. This requires the watch to be opened and repaired. Sticking the stem back in the tube will not accomplish anything except possible damage.

When was your watch last serviced? Sounds like it's time now. You have a great (and valuable) watch. Take care of it. If you would rather you can sell it as is.

No worries, it's just time for a service....a fairly routine fix for any watchmaker. There are plenty in Florida who can help you with this.
