Sizing a Lady President Bracelet?
Hi Folks,
I just purchased a pre-owned 26mm DJ 18K Gold Lady President for my wife and I need to get the watch bracelet sized. All of the easily removable links have been taken out, and I still need about a 1/2" more removed. My research tells me these are considered "permeant links", and must be removed by an AD? I called a local AD, and they tell me it might need to go to a jeweler... which tells me they did not know, but did not do it themselves. Any thoughts, experience, or resource recommendations. Thanks T |

I inquired about this with my wife’s 31mm DJ president bracelet. If you live near a RSC, like the one in NYC, they will remove the permalinks for free. However, they will not return the “damaged” link to you.

They have to be cut off. My other half is the same, but she decided to wear it big.

Is there a 1.5 link for that model? If so, that would be ideal.

If the watch is too small with all links removed, a 1.5 link will be no good in this instance.

Based on what I’ve seen, those so-called “permanent links” can be tricky. They usually require special tools and expertise. Some independent watchmakers with a strong background in Rolex adjustments have successfully handled similar issues, but if you’re not 100% sure about the jeweler’s experience, it might be safer to have an AD handle it. Either way, ensure the person you choose has a solid track record with Rolex repairs to avoid any mishaps.
