FOIS Domed Crystal...

I have heard nothing but glowing praise for the new domed crystal that's on the new FOIS...
Do you think that Omega might, at some point, start putting it on the Ed White...???

Yeah, the new domed crystal on the FOIS is getting a lot of praise, and I can see why—it looks amazing. As for Omega putting it on the Ed White, it’s possible, but unlikely since they’re focused on historical accuracy. If they ever tweak the design in the future, though, it’d be a great upgrade.

I don't have a new 321 model, but I'll bet a brave owner could get a competent watchmaker to investigate and do the swap if it's possible.

I own a new FOIS. The domed sapphire crystal is cool, and yet I'm thinking of contacting my Omega-certified watchmaker to ask if he'll install a good 'ol Hesalite crystal in my watch. Different strokes, I suppose...

A hesalite would’ve been the way to go for historical accuracy, with the domed crystal coming in second.

I saw it at the AD today, and my first impression was “Wow it’s beautiful,” and “It tiny.” Does the 321 look like that too? Does it look small? Btw, it looks small in a good way. I think the proportions are perfect.

It's like the Speedmaster Pro got a personal trainer and shopped at exclusive clothing boutiques. It turns heads

To my eye the 321 wears larger or at least looks larger on my wrist than the 3861.

I think the lack of crown guards and less cluttered dial make it appear larger (at least to me)

Hopefully I’ll get to see one in person one of these days.

The new domed crystal on the FOIS has been getting a lot of love, and I can see why, it adds a great vintage-inspired touch. As for Omega putting it on the Ed White, it’s possible, but given how faithful the current version is to the original, they might not want to tweak it too much.

Great pics folks.
I'm about a month away from traveling to, hopefully, see one.
