Icon20 Warranty Card look legit? New Here

Hi, 2020 DateJust 126334, have the watch in my possession from a local seller, but I haven't paid for it yet. Serial number on the watch, white tag, and card all match. With this style of card, I'm worried about the dealer name and date being on there with a label. Any advice? Thanks, I'm pretty new to this.

I have never seen that but perhaps our members from across the pond can help out more. Looks so poorly done.

The card looks fake to me, that RolexRolexRolex print looks to be off. Also, it shouldn't go over the embossed number to the right of it. Also, there's no way they'd date it like that and especially no way they'd write the retailer's name like that. It would also state a country code. Someone probably bought a Chinese knock off card and instead of printing on it properly just straight up did this BS.

I would like to think an outfit as sophisticated as WoS London would handwrite the card. That said, there were times when WoS ADs were keeping hold of warranty cards for 12 months post purchase. Also Covid Lockdowns in 2020 had some strange handovers/rushed collections - so anything is possible.

Whilst not a WoS boutique buyer myself, my WoS group purchases (4) have all had their cards handwritten with the date and stamps for the store.

I’d raise this with WoS London by email and see if this was ever part of their practice. Ask the seller, and go with your gut feel… it’s not usually wrong!

Thanks all. Any recommendations for going to a local watch maker/professional to verify the watch, even if the card is suspect?

My advice is to return the watch. WOS doesn't paste labels on warranty cards in London or anywhere else.

Maybe the watch is fine, maybe not, but your seller is cuckoo to trying to pass that card off on a buyer.

Agree with most, too many red flags on this piece, that you will not be able to look at it in the future and NOT have misgivings in regard to its authenticity. It's your hard-earned money, but if it was me, would start a quick return and hope for a full refund...

Even if the watch is legit, I would pass if the paperwork is not.

So many red flags. The print on the white tag is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off, bezel looks like crap.

Avoid.

return it. Bezel looks off, Card is ok, most likely a blank card with labels, and white tag looks off.

Wow! Scary. WOS London would never use stick on labels on their warranty card. The watch just doesn’t look right to me. Return it!

The white tag shown has an "L", where it should be an "M" for a medium box used for a stainless model

Im not sure about a card with stickers on it. That's the first one I've seen. I'd pass on the piece.

They gave you the watch without making you pay first and you are new to collecting?! That's maybe all you need to know...

For a datejust why not just go into an AD? Most can be had on allocation.

I was thinking the same. That’s unheard of, OP! You were smart to come here for advice. If you want a nice Datejust, call one of our trusted sellers listed at the bottom of the page. Someone will help you, and no worries about authenticity.

Welcome to the forum.

I’ve never heard of this before.

Who’s the seller?

Good luck OP, and welcome to the forum.

Finding it ironic the differences in responses here relative to this thread:

You were smart to come here for advice.

And OP, the forum sponsors are a great way to get this Datejust or just about any Rolex, though a black dialed Datejust should not be that hard to purchase directly from an AD (with a relatively quick turnaround) for 100% peace of mind.

Great post. I know these are only two threads, but it is putting a bit of more doubt in the CPO program for me.

Uk based here and none of my WOS cards look like that. Card looks off, Fluted Bezel looks off in the photo.

Does the card have NFC? Easy to check, hold phone near card and it should take you to the Rolex site.
As others have said, a Datejust should be obtainable direct from AD within a 3-6month period at retail, depending on configuration
