Got the call but not the one I was hoping for...

I received a message from my SA the other day saying he had something to discuss with me. Not knowing what to expect I got a little excited thinking a watch on my list had arrived sooner than expected (this would have been the 4th watch in about 7 months lol). But as it turns out there was a recall on a small batch of 26238TIs and mine was included. It was somehow mistakenly fitted with a stainless steel case back.

They offered me 3 options:

1) Leave everything as is.
2) Send it back to HQ and have it replaced with a random serial number (~ weeks turnaround).
3) Send it back to HQ and have it replaced with the same serial number (~ 4-6 months turnaround).

I went with option #3 since I figured the watch is supposed to be full titanium and that's how I would prefer it.

While I was there I was able to see the recently launched bleu nuit Offshore. As others have said the blue looks brighter in person than the photos... almost like a teal blue. I liked it.

Before leaving my SA said he had one more thing for me. It was a frosted RO desk clock! I thought this was a super cool gift and thoughtful as I didn't ask for nor expect anything.

My SA and everyone at the boutique have honestly been great through all this. They were super apologetic even though I didn't really mind and have other watches that I can wear. I always believe it's easy to sell something when it's brand new but how you handle it when something goes wrong is much more important and representative of your brand as a whole. I wish all the brands that I've dealt with in this crazy hobby we all love were as good as them. Hats off to the AP team at the boutique!

How does the desk clock work? Battery or manual?

Thanks! Yeah it's not ideal but at least they notified me offered to fix it... things happen sometimes and I think they handled it well.

The clock is almost like a watch lol. It came with a warranty card stamped with the date it was given and the serial number. It has a 2 year warranty and is battery operated but the manual says not to change it myself. There are two screws behind the stand but they don't look like normal hex or torx screws to me so I'll probably just bring it back to them if the battery needs to be changed. I've attached a pic of the back of the case.

It also came with a wooden stand but I prefer it on it's own. It's also quite chunky and hefty.

Things happen and it seems like they are handling it well. Keep us updated. Nice watch and clock.
