A friend of mine acquired a new sea master within the last year. He said he put it on this morning and noticed water on the inside crystal

He asked me how it could have happened as he doesn’t recall leaving the crown out and letting it get wet recently

I told him if he has been diligently keeping the crown screwed down around water then I’m not sure how water could have gotten in other than bad seals maybe. But the watch is still relatively new

Anyone seen this before with a sea master and have any idea ?

That's really surprising to see. It shouldn't leak like that even if the crown(s) was/were left open. I think it still maintains like 100m WR with either cown open. Warranty service time.

is there a mark on 13 minute bezel sign? maybe he accidentally got into something and it is not sealed the gasket or whatever anymore ....or im just one ye blind :)))

anyway he got it under warranty so service time

Folks spend too much time dwelling on the crown being screwed/unscrewed.

The crown seals, or leaving the crown unscrewed, especially on a diver, is not generally a weak area.

If the case back is tight and actually has a seal, then the likely culprit is a hard knock that has dislodged the crystal to case seal.

In this case, if the watch is relatively new and what is seen is condensation, then the watch already had moisture in it. If that is the case then it will reoccur because just like water can't get in, it can't get out either.

When you get it serviced, they should pressure test it.
