Day-Date dial trades?

Given the large variety of dials for especially the DD36 series but also DD40- I am wondering if any RF members have successfully traded dials with other RF members to mix things up or rather bought additional dials? I know Rolex will change dials but it’s quite a costly exercise, not to mention Rolex will now charge you extra just to keep the original dial.

I would even think there would be potential for verified ‘good guys’ owner to make a dial swap club :)

That would be a fun idea a verified dial swap club could really keep things fresh! Definitely agree.

Not sure who has dials around to trade but if you are talking about taking one off a current watch and then another doing the same I don't think the logistics are good. I have purchased DD II dials of eBay and traded them around on YG DD II's I have had. You always have to remember that the hands sometimes work and other times you need to source them also.

Glad you like the idea, let’s see if we can get some traction from more who could be interested …

You are right it would require either spare dials - or a patient watchmaker in both ends to open the watches, remove the dials/hands and overnight ship them both ways…but could be done :)
