Help with President bracelet/band
I recently purchased a used 1997 vintage T serial Yellow gold President 18238. The watch is in great shape but I have a question about the bracelet especially the link screws. I want to keep the watch 100% Rolex. When I bought the watch after verifying all the hallmarks and numbers I replaced what looked to be older looking spring bars with brand new Rolex ones.
My bracelet has 7 screws. 6 of the 7 screws look the same color (kinda a darker color like the clasp) and the slot in the screw is perfectly centered. The odd looking screw has a off center slot and is more yellow color wise than the other 6. I assume it is a aftermarket part and maybe 1 link is also. But I cant tell any different in any of the links. The screws all mic out around 14.4mm long, 1.60mm wide with the thread at 1.20mm. I assume real Rolex screws are have centered slots for the screwdriver? Since I don't have any other President bracelets to compare it too I was wondering if any of you out there have experience in this area? I have looked all over where I live and no one has any in stock. I hate to start ordering blindly and then maybe get the wrong part etc. Thanks in advance for your help, Jim p.s. if you know of anyone having "1" screw they want to part with I would buy it. ![]() |
