main spring snapped

my 112 wont wind anymore

but it has gone 9 years without service yet.

should i get it serviced or just get it fixed?

eta movement service should be very reasonable, might as well handle it while its open.
local watchmaker should be very capable of basic service for this piece.

Easy fix, but just have a good watchmaker do it.

Standard service of a 6497 includes replacing the mainspring in most cases.

9 years without a service is too long anyway!

Yes this is an easy fix for a good watchmaker, no need to go to PASC as 6497 movement is simple.

It's a very easy fix. I could do it in my sleep as much as I've practiced on the 6497.

Next step: try to do it with a clock's mainspring while you sleep...

Get it serviced - the mainspring should be replaced anyway
5-7 years is a better service interval

i still havent gotten it fixed. very busy. so the planet ocean is filling the space....im starting to miss it.
