So I was at this BBQ....

...on Saturday with my other half and right after joining the group I noticed this from across the other side of the garden but dismissed it as my eyes playing tricks, after continuing to stare at it in as discrete as was a possible I began to think it was indeed 'IT' but since I was pulled into a conversation by my half with another guest it would be a half hour before everyone made their way to grab yet more food that was coming off the flames that I seized my opportunity to confirm what I had thought it was, and what can I say but wow!

Yes. It was apparently his uncles that the current owner got it from in around '81 when he was given it, he never found out it's true worth until 10 years after he had it upon which time he locked it away in a safe for a number of years. He still has a the related B&P that are according to him in "like new condition". He was such a pleasure to talk too and his partner had a lovely DD DJII that I forget to get pictures of.

I can't believe this is the second one of these I have came across in the wild, once I thought would be my only chance but two and to have it near on my doorstep I never would have thought possible.

It looks pristine. I have NEVER seen a COMEX in the wild other than mine and its NOT a 1665. I think there is something special abut the 1665 since most of them actually saw real action as opposed to the more modern 16600 that were "desk divers" like mine. Cool story, thanks for sharing.

What a chance encounter. I would've asked to wear it and offered some tasty grilled corn on the cob in exchange.

I've never even seen someone wearing any form of Sea-Dweller in the wild. Are you talking about meet-ups? Those don't count!

Yes it only had the usual Rolex engravings with a big '5513' in the middle.
