Late 20's Early 30's Ladies Cocktail Watch
Picked up for a close friend who had her modern Rolex stolen as a Christmas gift this year. This one for all I know could be fake but came from a very reputable watch store that specializes in old watches.
It is in a 9k gold tonneau shaped case with acanthus leaves engraved around it . It has manual hand wound Rolex Prima movement. On the back of the case on is stamped 4202 and cross from that is 16 It is old I know that from most of my reading Prima movement came out in 1928 and that Rolex crown was not generally used till the early 30s . I attached some pictures if it a fake well money lost and lesson learn it just happens to be very fitting of my friend and I was thinking with the heart and not necessarily the brain when purchasing. I have attached some pictures any information you all could help me find out would be great. |

Yeah, I think it is an amazing watch it looks great for its age. I was just seeing if anyone has seen anything like it or some more information on it as I have not found another one like it on auction sites or forums so I was just seeing if anyone knows any more about the case as it looks based on the hallmark stamps that it was made by Rolex. It is just an interesting piece. So if anyone can shed some more light on it it would be great as most of the information I find is on the men's watches and not so much the ladies watches.

This will shed light
go to vintagewatchstraps dot com
Page: blogrolexsponsorsmarks Looks to me like you have the Glasgow assay import marks, and the year "b" dating this to 1924/1925 - It is possible of course that the case and the mechanism were put together and the mechanism is fake but it seems like your case at least is solid :) |

Still dont know alot but since it was last serviced a few years ago I sent it into the RSC in NY to have the movement serviced. They fixed it and charged me. Which means whatever ancient model the watch is real as the RSC does not repair or service fakes. Money well spent.
