Report on new Daytona C accuracy

Thought I would share this with the group in case anyone was wondering about the accuracy of the new Daytona C. I can only speak to mine of course, but now on the 10th day and it is .5 seconds fast. After day 7 it was - 2 seconds but when placed on the night stand flat on it's back it caught up in 3 days and is basically spot on. I'm pretty impressed! Hope others will / are having the same experience!

Excellent! Yes the accuracy is outstanding on the new Daytona and the 2016 production Everose version here is about a second every two weeks accurate. Blows away all the Pateks I've ever had by a long shot.

I suspect the Ceramic bezel won't have too much impact on the accuracy of the movement...as the latter hasn't changed.

True that! My year-and-a-half-old Daytona is spot on when I keep it crown-up at night.

I've had a few and this is the best so far in that regard. Curious to hear if others are getting same results or if I happen to be lucky. Either way, very pleased!

Easiest = use apps on your smartphone so you're timing it against a network global time standard.

Download the ' Watchtracker' App from the App store. Makes it very easy to track a watch or multiple watches accuracy .

Report on new Daytona C accuracy

Using time.is for a reference clock works best for me without needing another app cluttering my iPhone screen.

Now it's true the 4130 is still the movement in the old and new SS Daytona's, but it ain't your father's 4130 anymore. When we were discussing and contrasting it vs. the Zenith based 4030 there were all sorts of comapro's of accuracy. But that 4130 was a "gen. 1" version (my term - not a widely used term)
But since 2007 Rolex has surely had some advances in improved manufacturing tolerances, jewel finishing, and other refinements. Therefore, the 4130 has actually improved without a new ref.# change to get better than COSC performance.

Absolutely Stunning Brian. Black dial would be my choice . They are getting much better. My new BLRO loses about a 1/2 second every 24 hours.

I just shipped my new YM to the RSC to be regulated. It loses 4 seconds a day and I'm sure they can do better.

oh I don't think ceramic has anything to do with it... I think they are just turning out a more accurate product in the last year or so

x2 for Time.IS -- I don't check timekeeping enough to waste the precious real estate on my iPhone.

I have long thought the 4130 movement is one of the best out there.

This thread rather misses the point of Swiss mechanical watches.

No-one in their right mind buys mechanical watches for their accuracy, or lack of accuracy to be more, er, accurate. Seiko quartz and your phone both keep far better time than any mechanical Rolex movement, and at a tiny fraction of the price.

Rolex now claims accuracy to be -2/+2 "after casing" so all the newer production models are being tweaked in-house after the movements are returned from COSC testing. I think this might have started in mid-2015. My wife and I both have new DJs, purchased within the past six weeks. So far both are +0.5-1s/day. Not sure if ours actually were among the latest production or if we are just lucky.

I agree that no one buys a swiss watch for accuracy but what i think he is stating, and I could be wrong, is how amazing it is that these mechanical wonders can be as accurate as they are. I have many brands in my collection. I always check them a few weeks after I get them to see how they are running. My Rolex's have always been near spot on

Well I was being a wee bit facetious.

I think all the accuracy hoo hah is marketing and further differentiation from other co-traveler brands.
